The principal, David Rice, is a civil engineer and surveyor with over thirty three years experience, and is a member of IPENZ and the Engineers Registered Associates. He employs experienced survey technicians to assist with the survey work.

The company offers specialist construction surveying i.e., setting out, quantity measurement and as builts support to contractors. For many years contractors have relied on the engineer to the client for these services, and Direct Civil Ltd offers the contractor the choice to have control of the work that it does. The company is unique in that it is autonomous of the client and it offers an independent, reliable resource.

Direct Civil Ltd also provides topographical and as built surveying for consultants. The company uses Liscad and Carlson engineering and surveying software to provide CAD as built drawings, earthwork volumes, cross sections, digital terrain models and set out data.
